and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In addition, Bill has professional
experience as a CDC Research Scientist and a strong academic background in
Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, and Biochemistry. His scientific
understanding of the human body, with its unique composition and chemistry,
lends itself well to a logical approach to individual fitness training.
Although science is the foundation of Catalyst Fitness' approach
to fitness and the basis for the remarkable results of the company's clients,
Bill also understands that there is an art to working with people.
Catalyst Fitness' underlying philosophy is integrating the art and the science
of fitness.
Bill is a long-time fitness advocate and a former member of the U.
S. National Wrestling Team. He has earned incredible personal results,
participating and winning national-level Wrestling, Bodybuilding and Jiu Jitsu
competitions. His personal success, passion for life-long fitness, client
care and concern, and overall enthusiasm provide Bill the unique ability to
bring out the best in those that he works with.
When working with clients, Bill focuses on two key areas. The
first is a proper Kinetic Chain Assessment and the second is Functional
Training. Assessing the
combination and interrelation of the nervous, muscular, and skeletal systems
ensures optimal and efficient human movement. He uses a Functional Training model that involves exercise
prescriptions specifically designed a training model that involves exercise
prescriptions specifically designed to improve a client's performance of
activities inside and outside the training environment, including specific
movements involved in work, sports or other activities of daily life.
"If one component of the Kinetic Chain is not working
properly, the client's movement is ultimately effected. When a client's
ability to move properly is affected their performance decreases and their
health is compromised; specifically they are more susceptible to injuries. A Kinetic Chain Assessment helps to
provide the information I need to design an exercise program which meets the musculoskeletal
needs of each client."
Educating his clients sets him apart from other trainers. "A
lot of trainers don't want to impart too much information to their clients for
fear the client will leave them and train on their own. But, I've never lost a
client because I've taught them too much". Once clients achieve their
goals with Bill, they're hooked. They either set new goals or continuously
check in for periodic program updates.
